seriously, take responsibility and dont shove it on others.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?...We are all meant to shine, as children do...It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
Nelson Mendela

i was watching youtube on my favourite reporter at The Resident (woo!) when i realised that she is saying something that might make sense.

when we think about the homeless, the sick, the deprived and the whatnots, we always keep thinking that everyone else may be worse than them and you feel so much better. but why do we always look upon others to make ourselves better? is it a fuel for our ambitious wants and needs? why me? is it possible that all of us experience the same amount of happiness or sadness throughout our lives?

happiness is, afterall, a state of mind. it doesnt require physical wealth or status (though others may rightly oppose this notion), fame or power. what makes us happy is subjective. something that makes me happy may not be shared by others, or is not enough for others. so how rightly can you say that someone who is in destitution is not as happy as someone in the MacWorld? (poverty vs obesity) i mean, there was this passage in Prelim 2 where it says that people in South Africa (issit?) likely to bne happier as they translates to community as a whole whereas people living in the media-world would most likely find their happiness watching behind the black screen. no more communication or whatnots. but is it really true?

"someone who does not search for happiness will most likely to find it" our ambition, our desire to be at the top may as well propel us to be selfish and self-indulgent. will we truly find happiness in this way, spending hours delving into work and papers and sheets and no human contact at all? cause afterall, we are human.

i use to think alot about the negatives in my life (still thinking) why things happen this way, why cant i get born into a richer family, why i dont have less siblings, why did i put myself back into the unmerciful hands of our education system, why why why why why? why do we human beings just love to talk about ourselves, speak about ourselves, indulge in our small problems when there are just tiny fragments in our lives?

it is because we are human after all. but gone are the altruistic aims. only self-indulgence and vanity. sometimes we need to take a step back and revive our emotional and spiritual beings.

i like to self-involve myself too. according to mr sim, those who make blogs are those people who like to shine spotlights on themselves, badgering on attention o.0

so seriously, what makes you happy?

anyways, this is a short clip on my fav reporter's view on the media. which i totally, totally agree! :D

seriously, dont you think entertainment is really getting old? eg. reality shows. and the most recent Singapore Idol Take-over. its fun to talk about how "racist" Sg Idol is because the last 2 idols are Malay (whaaaaat?!) or laugh about how bad Singaporean talent is compared to other countries, blah de blah. but its all what? pure entertainment. suddenly all the head-lines about serious, real stuff totally disappear. the fine line between news and entertainment has eroded.

and anyway, bout the racist stuff (that came from a Chinese perspective). just remember its 90% popularity and 10% talent. we Malays like sing-a-ling-a-lings and karaoke nights (sorry, KBox too expensive) or singing under the blocks with our jiwang mats and their guitars- it all came from the kampong days when there is no TV and we sing the repetitive Chan Mali Chan songs. seriously, when it comes to all this, we just love all these stuff. really.

so when you people like to talk about how Malays are given the edge over others, seriously?! this is SINGAPORE we are talking about. just because im Malay does not mean i advocate Malaysia's priorities on Malays, so dont give me that look. im not the government. im just somebody. or maybe nobody (since nobody is perfect) hahahahahahahaha k lame wth.
